<正>Objective:Investigation of national and racial difference in clinical features of women with polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS). Methods:The literatures(2,461 cases) that represent clinical features of PCOS in China were chosen from journals and symposium between 1985 and 2003,and 94 consecutive premenopausal women(16-40 yr of age) of P-COS between April 2003 to May 2004 from the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University were studied. Two-tailed t-tests were used. Results:The clinical features of PCOS including symptoms and signs of Chinese show different flaws from Caucasian PCOS patients,Chinese women with PCOS show higher rates of menstrual disturbance and infertility, while relatively lower rate of obesity. Conclusion:Comparison between Asian/Chinese and Caucasian women with PCOS shows observable difference. We have to find the diagnostic criterion of PCOS which will be more appropriate for Chinese women.
